The New Year

Last year is already like an old photograph one finds tucked away in an attic trunk.

It doesn't take much to set good intentions for the New Year -- we all know what we want to improve in our lives.

It takes a great deal to stay committed to them.

What makes the difference is the degree of DESIRE you hold for what it is you want.

    1. Hi,

You suffer from the same thing as the rest of us...the human condition.

According to A Course in Miracles, we have two choices of mind under which to operate -- the ego mind or the Spirit Mind.

The ego mind creates an illusion on unreality, catches us in distractions led by our emotions and destroys our best plans.

The Spirit Mind leads us instead to the goal, as long as it is honorable and worthy. But...this mind requires that we submit to it.

When we learn not to react to situations around and about us, we remain on the straight and narrow path towards success.

This diligence for using the Spirit Mind can be taught and in my opinion, is best learned through ACIM study.

There are study groups around the world and in every language. Google the Miracles Distribution Center to begin your search.

That's my best suggestion because it is the one that has helped me the most.

  2. I don't know anyone who keeps new year resolutions. It seems a little ridiculous to think we can do them if we can't manage to other times.

    1. Hi,

Why don't you be the first one in your circle of friends to make and keep a resolution. You will become a leader to them, an example of how to break through the barriers to success.

My resolution this year is to have tenacity. I have already been challenged a number of times, but remind myself I want to grow and become stronger in mind and body.

2014 promises to push me beyond my comfort zone and into uncharted territories that will serve me well. I wish the same for you too.
