Summertime

It was the summer of 1970. I hadn't been this happy with a man in a very long time.  I felt adored, finally, after so many years of being alone.

But at that party, the one by the water at Amelia's B&B...

Everything was taken away from me.

Dread

The muted gray vessel silently skimmed across the water towards my Victorian's dock. Onlookers had an overwhelming sense of dread.

Can you imagine, they all still show up at the parties I host?  Go figure

Crumbling the Wall of Fear

As with this stacked pile of rocks, one tiny change can shift all the others.

Cassandra took a chance and left her comfort zone in spite of her fears.

Good choice...she's sitting pretty right about now!

The Ghost's Library

When I first moved into my Victorian mansion, the roof leaked, the basement flooded, and the wind howled through the spaces around the windows.

In the midst of that, there was a treasure left behind by the estate...the ghost's library!

I read his books every night, classics that spanned decades of time.  My favorite authors included:

Robert Collier (Publications)
Napoleon Hill
Charles F. Haanel
Florence Scovel Shinn, and so many others

Tweak As We Go

Snippets from this scene were in someone else's mind's eye, but whose dream is it?  How can this even happen in the tangled hollow?

We all need a dream and maybe we have to play it out a bit in our head beforehand.  I've learned to tweak mine as I go.

Sorry to sound trite by saying be careful what you wish for.

Now, that could be another post.

Being in School

Someone commented she/he would go to a School for Dreams.  One does not have to look very far to find such a thing.

Life is the school, thoughts are the dreams.  When you learn to guard all your thoughts to be in alignment with your dreams, life changes.

Yet, in real life, such a school does exist and was the inspiration for the book.

Perfect

And to think, I almost threw the vessel out when it cracked.  The other day, when it caught my eye again, I was flabbergasted to see it had sprouted a small tree.  A maple, I believe. I don't even know where it came from.  I have oak trees on my property.

But then it got me thinking...it came from the wind.  A seed with wings landed in the broken pottery.  Nature doesn't need perfection to thrive.  Why do we human beings think conditions have to be perfect in order for a new idea to flourish?

Oh wow.  It was in front of me all the time.  Things are right--just the way they are--if you have a dream. There are no limits now.

Try telling that to Jacquelyn.  She thinks my school is a strange fantasy land and my students are delusional--but she keeps showing up at my parties.  We'll see.

Tiny Sparrow vs Mighty Eagle

There is a power within us that once we experience it, we trust nothing else.  It is through this power that all things are possible.

The development of this trust begins with the willingness to undo old beliefs.  This first step may appear as painful because it seems as though things are being taken away.

When I moved in my Victorian, I felt that way. I fought long and hard to keep my old life while at the same time, I really wanted something new. This engendered conflict on a daily basis and was my battle the first 13 years I lived there.  Once  I let myself relinquish what I finally saw as valueless, everything changed, right to the stunning end...

Handsome Ghost

I do see my ghost.

He appears to me in different ways, sometimes as a purple plume and other times he tips a book off a shelf in my library and mists a secret message across the walls.

I have danced with him and he has kissed me often.  But remember, I am a character in a book who lives in an old, Victorian house.  So...are my experiences real???

Oh yes...just ask the author who was inspired to write the story.  It is her house and I know for a fact, she is with her ghost this very minute; he's comforting her while she sits alone at the computer.  He loves her for sharing his message to the world.

Borrowing Money in this Economy

If you begin a new venture with a preconceived notion of a dismal economy, you are starting with problems.  You see, the LOA works in proper alignment when there is no fear of any kind.

The process that brings us to a place of complete trust is knowing what we are supposed to be trusting.

Jason's Dream, You Ask...

My gorgeous contractor is the son of my best friend from childhood.  His life was troubled because he longed to know the identity of his father.

Yet, something even deeper stirred inside this man that only a woman could provide for-- but which woman would that be?

Of All Things...

Ah, yes... Cassandra, the feisty one.  You'll first meet this natural beauty in a cemetery where she is, of all things, growing a vegetable garden.  What is it that is whispering through the trees or lurking in the shadows of the surrounding thicket?

Cassandra is one of my more reluctant students but she, too, falls prey to the enchantment.  Jason's not complaining -- not one, single bit.
