Mum's the Word

As last of garden's bloom, Chrysanthemum is a beautiful symbol of Mother Earth getting ready for winter.

HONOR the cycles of life by remembering that when the wheel returns, we may enjoy our dreams if we devoted the quiet times to right-minded thinking.

  1. Feeling depressed to see winter is next. How do you find a way to be ok with it?

    1. Hi,

I want to apologize for not seeing your comment until today.

I know exactly what you mean--it's easy to dread a hard season ahead.

I get through each winter by being prepared physically. I save ahead for oil to heat my house and pull out my winter clothes to be certain they are still in good shape. I gather together good books I want to read and set goals to write when ideas come to mind. There's nothing like isolation to give an author deep writing material.

I prepare mentally by donating gently used winter clothing so others will also be warm. I donate to the animal shelters that no furry creature be left in the cold.

Then I pray with each passing storm. This is how I survive--not only to block thoughts of depression, but to be somewhat helpful to others during these coming months. XO
