A Season of Hope

While we face a grueling winter of cold and extended darkness, the earth is preparing for a season of renewal and light.

The very nature of HOPE is seeing what can be.

  2. Hi,

There is an old expression my mother often spoke: Do not put off until tomorrow, what can be done today.

It is winter where I live. The temperatures are near zero and the winds are strong. In case I should lose electricity, and I'm not putting that idea into the universe, I have been busy preparing in advance as well as staying on top of chores, so as not to be caught off guard. This kind of "doing" is being responsible as a human being living in the physical world.

Another "doing" is a spiritual preparation, much like the physical preparation stated before. For example, I am responsible for heat in 3 separate buildings. I spent the night in fear, worrying over gas burners straining against frigid cold. (Although everything has been properly serviced for just such a time as this -- preparedness doing) So why was I afraid?

Today, I read a random idea from ACIM: "...peace and understanding go together and can never be found alone."

From years of spiritual preparation, I knew exactly what that message meant. I had mistakenly dropped my understanding of Source by engaging in fear and consequently, losing my peace.

Instantly, I felt safe, regardless of what happens during the winter. I have come to know the Source Within over years of preparation. All is well, always and in all ways.

Then there is doing stuff, as you mentioned. If it is only to keep us from being prepared in both a physical and spiritual capacity, then it does not serve. Constantly socializing, talking on the phone, checking social media, looking for signs of aging, shopping, etc. are the ego's ways to keep us from finding our Inner Power.

To exit the rat race, ask yourself one question: Do I want to know my Inner Spirit? If yes, then you can choose to stop doing stuff and get busy doing purposeful preparations.

    XO
