DANDELION FLUFF

Although they were both content, even with silence between them, Charles wished he could second-guess Daphne, just once. He longed to become her lover and protector, but always hit a wall with her. What was it that kept them apart?


Trying to capture Daphne was like running after dandelion fluff in the wind – one could never hold the entire cluster once it became a hundred different pieces.

DARK, SEARING EYES

She looked into the mirror again. Was someone else’s dark, searing eyes looking back?

She panicked and jumped away, hitting something by the tub with her foot. It was a small, rectangular brass placard that read—Doctor Is In.

The message on it was unnerving, as though the former owner was letting her know he was also in the room.
