You have the "bug" for writing. I relate to that a lot. And, like you, I would never be able to finish a book about how to write.
The creativity of our stories is inside us. It is the meat of our life experiences, our sadness, joy, fears and such.
However, once you let it flow onto paper, you do need to understand proper punctuation and sentence structure, as well as how to let a story unfold.
It's important to know that your final chapters must tie up all loose ends. However, the longer you can keep your readers in quiet confusion, the better.
Write what you know...the oldest suggestion to anyone with the passion.
I have an idea for a business from a craft I do on the side. I just wonder if you have to go for broke and ditch your job to start a new business. I'm single and this is like taking over in my head and I don't know if I have good judgement about it anymore.
When I had been confronted with that same kind of choice, I did not give up the so-called "day job." The security it afforded me while my life took another turn, gave me peace during the trials and errors of doing a new thing.
But I cannot speak for you. What I advise is for you to develop that Inner Voice to such a degree, you will get your guidance from Spirit.
Examine exactly what is taking over you head, as you described. It will give you the necessary clues. Transitions can overlap the old with the new very nicely, but sometimes-- one can just take the plunge in a single leap of faith.
With the Internet, one can launch a business, a book, anything...while remaining stable in previous endeavors that are generating money.
For me, I blend that leap of faith with a healthy dose of common sense. That has never failed me.
I would like to write a book and bought a book about how to write a book, lol. I can't get throught it and just want to write. Any suggestions?
