Fall's berries -- some are for eating, healing or just a last blast of colorful seeds before long, cold nights are upon us.
The ancients saw this as a magical time, and celebrated its fruition. We have to adjust to the coming harshness of winter, knowing Spring will bring renewal.
How do you use this special time?
i wish i had a "magical" tradition to get through the early dark days. Any suggestions of something not too out there to do with young kids?
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteJust taking young children away from technology and bringing them outdoors to find winter berries and dried leaves can be magical.
A basket of Nature to make a table centerpiece can be fun. And while doing a craft together, it is a wonderful time to share the "way it was" before modern times.
Of course, a homemade hot chocolate after such an adventure will seal the memory.
Just my thoughts...XO
