LYING IN WAIT

 Just walking onto the rickety porch and through the massive double front doors was creepy enough. One’s eyes would instantly be drawn up the sweeping, spiral staircase off the vestibule, and see door after door leading to bedchambers and baths.   Norman was glad his clients never asked to go upstairs. 

He purposely removed the basement light bulb because something down there felt as though it had been lying in wait for decades.  Whatever it was, he didn’t want it disturbed—not on his watch.  The house frightened away everyone, except for the undaunted new owner.   

I wrote this scene into the storyline for a reason. Can you guess why?

Most things are not as they appear...

Worldly Things: Take politics, for example...how can we be certain propaganda is not brainwashing us to hate? It is directed by ego for self-serving purposes.

Spiritual Things: Blind Faith is reserved for the Divine, and not even...the Divine wants us to question and search. That's a distinct difference from the ego!

A Message for the Week of 8/19/19

A Universal Reading, but some may relate more than others.

Human Nature is to deny we have chosen a wrong path to follow. But what  can be wrong when all roads lead to Rome, as the expression goes?

When our well-being suffers, we know the path is not the best one.

In these cards, we are tempted to embrace the power of money. Money surely has power: Power to tear families/ governments apart, Power to help others in times of need.

“Hey Doug, come with me to put the sold sign on the Main Street property.  I’ll buy you a drink to celebrate,” he offered his business partner, who was also his brother.

                       

“Somebody actually bought that nightmare?”                                                           

Norman nodded, shrugging his shoulders.  

                                                                       

“Right…and I bet you’re telling me about the sale now because you already unloaded the antiques and made yourself a bundle.” Doug was annoyed, thinking he missed out again.  
                     

“Nah, it sold yesterday afternoon to a woman with two kids.  She’s keeping everything the estate left behind.” 

                                                                          

“What’s she like?” Doug assumed there was more to it since Norman was never one to let expensive furniture slip through his fingers so easily.

 “Honestly, the broad’s a bit of an oddball, but perfect for that old house, if you ask me.”

A Love Message tor the Week of 7/29/19

A Universal Message for all, some more than others❤️

The card of Indifference has appeared in a post before, recently. That hints to a certain stubbornness needing resolution. The longer we continue negative thinking, the easier it becomes for an unfortunate series of events to take shape.

The key to this reading is the Miracle card of health and healing. Health is a result of mental healing. We cannot hold onto indifference and expect the body to heal. The body gets its directives exclusively from the mind.

A Universal Reading for all, some more than others.
Does this relate to you?

A mental state of indifference has 2 faces:
The face to the world that says we don't care and...
The hidden face of repressed anguish and anger that churns up our beautiful health, causing headaches, joint pain, tooth pain, even the beginnings of cancer.

Indifference is tricky in that it fools everyone.
We meet new people, do different things, but
while thinking we have recovered from hurt, we are merely being indifferent to it.

There is a road to recovery.
We must allow repressed emotions to come to the Light.
We must awaken to the truth we have not fully healed from our emotional wounds.
We must realize they have another purpose besides "eating" away at us.

How can we do this after years of acting with indifference???
GENEROSITY
By thinking of others and sharing our blessings with an open heart, the poison of anger will slowly ooze out from us and dissipate.
This miraculous change begins with one tiny thought of sharing.

Our goal this week is to at least TRY to think of another person instead of wallowing in our own pain.

“Hurry up!” Amelia shrieked, seeing a puddle of foam swirling around her feet.  

Water poured into the hole and its walls started collapsing.            

                       

They finished emptying the trunk in the nick of time. The opening completely filled with water and sand, leaving Thad in it up to his ribs.  He struggled to climb out of what was beginning to feel like a pit of quicksand. Just as Amelia reached for her shovel to help him escape, the strengthening backwash floated it away. 

Thad put his arms up in a last attempt and Amelia pulled, working harder than she ever worked in her life, freeing him from what would be a watery death.

A Power Reading for the Week of July 15, 2019

I started my day confronting a dog owner. He was using the park to train his rescued German Shepherd. The dog was off leash and charged at me while I was walking my 2 senior dogs. I screamed, grabbed my pups, and made it to my car before the Shepherd attacked or greeted us.

I drove up to the man, angry that my morning peace was disturbed. He mocked my fear with abusive language. The b__ch in me reared its ugly head.

I came home to do the weekly reading. The cards surprised me--they appeard to be powerful and wise. I was not feeling it. I chose to pull a card from Chopra's Kabala Oracle Cards. Then I knew the meaning.

Here's one reading for all, mostly for me:

We all want life to be Enchanting, but anything can disturb that sense of peace and joy. Anything can rob our sensibilities and effective communication skills. How do we get back on track? How do we stay on track?  There is only One Way!

Our wounds cut deep into the subconscious mind where all POWER lies. Personal outbursts, such as mine this morning, are mirrors of past hurts not yet healed.

The Hebrew Letter Kuf represents compassion for others--Nature and animals included. By practicing compassion, we can remove the blocks to LOVE at the subconscious level. That is our task for the week-- to practice kindness, no matter what.

Get this—Betel bought the place and then wrote her a check for fifty grand to renovate it on her own, and she ripped it up on the spot.”                                               

 “The lady probably has money of her own.”

“I don’t think so.  Actually, Betel asked me to keep an eye on her.  He said she almost drowned recently and now he thinks she’s going nuts.”

                       

“And in that house, going nuts will happen sooner rather than later,” Doug snickered.

           

“Who cares? I got what I wanted and Betel gave her what she wanted just to keep the peace.  That’s why the deal was so quick.”

“I’m sure you’ll be paying her a few visits, like the last gal you sold a house to.” Doug knew how well his brother liked acting the hero to beautiful damsels in distress.

Over my dead body, Norman mumbled as he stood up to leave the office.  He smoothed back his hair, rolled down his shirtsleeves, and reached for his sports jacket, flinging it across one shoulder. 

Norman was mulling over Mrs. Betel’s response when he had questioned how she could afford to repair the house on her own. To reject fifty thousand dollars was crazy, but not half as crazy as her glib pronouncement, the house will take care of everything.

CASSANDRA HEARD SPOKEN WORDS

Before leaving, she placed her tools in the moss-covered stone out-building bordering the thicket.  As Cassandra closed the door to the shed, she felt a familiar apprehension. It caught her off guard.  I forgot about that.

Could it be the way the light came through the trees and formed creepy shadows or the rich smell of the earth making her feel heady?  Or maybe it was the silent graves down the road.  There was no wind, but Cassandra heard spoken words rippling through the air—conversation.
